NYC… It’s not just Manhattan…

New York City… 8-9 September 2017

Our starting point was Washington D.C. Originally it was planned to be Philadelphia but we decided to change our itinerary.

The road to reach New York city was slightly longer than we initially anticipated, so we decided to leave early in the morning to avoid traffic and have more time to spend around New York.

We were surprised by a beautiful sun rise, just after we passed Philadelphia.

In the middle of the morning, we were in Manhattan traffic, crossing the Brooklyn Bridge to go to our AirBnB…

Of course, Brooklyn is not one of the safest places to stay in New York, but after Philadelphia, Brooklyn seemed to be a quiet place.

Once we put our suitcases down, we went out for a nice walk in New York. We walked the Queensboro Bridge and headed for Central Park.

We both have been already in New York before, so more than the surprise to see new things, there was the pleasure of reviewing some very beautiful ones and certainly Central Park was one of these…

However, it was certainly the first time for me here with someone who had a lot of fun taking pictures of me without knowing…

For lunch we stayed in the Central Park area, and we had a lunch at Marea Restaurant. Unfortunately, not having made a reservation, we were happy with a lunch sitting at the bar, but still the quality of the food and service were great as usual…

In the afternoon we continued our walk passing through Times Square and getting to Lower Manhattan…

The following day, however, we were very curious about discovering what we can call the other face of New York, that is, the Long Beach area…

It was a really an unexpected surprise. Long Beach feels like you are on a beach in Miami, or even on one of California’s beautiful beaches. However, you will be about half an hour from Manhattan. This is really a place that has place in my heart, complimenting the beautiful sunny day, the almost perfect climate, and even the company…

In the evening we were given another dinner at a starry restaurant in New York city, Aureole. It was a very positive experience, from serving, to the explanation of the dishes, to the wines, to the food and of course, the whole atmosphere was very exquisite…

After dinner we went for a walk-through Manhattan. We left the next day, with the desire of returning soon…
