Happy birthday in Paris!

Paris 1-2-3-4 May 2017

Paris has never been one of my favorite destinations, I do not know why, but it has not attracted me much. And if it had not been for the opportunity presented to me, I probably would not visit it yet.
I was elected “Employee of the Year” at work and the award was a 4 day stay in Paris for two people in one of my company’s hotels, including the airline tickets. How could I refuse?

I decided to go for my birthday and try to celebrate it in the best way possible. We left London early in the morning arriving at the hotel in Paris around 10:00 am.

The day, despite many of the city’s attractions being closed on May 1st, had already been planned. So, with our Paris Pass in hand (ParisPass here I am including the link to buy it and I really recommended it if you want to visit many of Paris’s major attractions, including tickets for the metro and other means) we left for the discovery of this city.
The first impression was not the best. Certainly not very tidy and not renowned for the kindness of the people, especially if you do not speak their language, but we, not caring for anything, just to celebrate my birthday, headed to Place de la Concorde and we went towards the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in the direction of the Arc de Triomphe…

But the first unexpected delight came up right in front of our eyes! It was the chance to ride in a Ferrari California, a different way to visit the city! So why not take this nice birthday surprise?

And it all takes another look…

So, after the unexpected pleasure of driving the car, we looked for a place to dine, and it was good…

Good carpaccio of beef and duck cooked to perfection and the best was still to come. So, after an afternoon tour to the Champs de Mars and a quick visit to the Eiffel Tower we went to the Seine…

We also took the Seine River cruise…

So in the late afternoon we went back to the hotel to prepare for dinner. We had to try a starred restaurant. Since I am a chef, it is a must!

We have one of the best dinners in my life. It was impeccable from food to service, a perfect way to end a great birthday.
The next day, despite the rain, we walked around the city’s main attractions, starting with the Louvre…

In spite of the weather, we have walked quite a bit, always hunting for some special shots…

It was told to me that it helps to look with a photographer’s eye…

Walking, we got to Notre Dame Cathedral for a “wet” shot…

And then another great classic, “Le Moulin Rouge”…

The last night we went up the Eiffel Tower, overlooking the city from above…
