How to Travel 1000 Km in Three Days!

These three days in Italy had long been scheduled for my best friend’s graduation. But as usual, my passion for travel and good local food has turned these 3 days of tranquility into 3 days of intense activity. However, they were very enjoyable.

And so, after a long day of work, I came home right to take a shower. Then, I prepared my suitcase and went out again in the middle of the night to reach the airport. My departure from London was at 6:20 am, arriving at Treviso/Venice airport at 9:20 am. I had already booked the car, so after a quick passport check and a tour of the Hertz car parking lot to look for my car, at 10:00 am I was already leaving for Belluno to meet the first friends on this trip…

I would have liked to stop and take some pictures of the infinite landscape typical of this area, but the program of the day was already quite full and I had to avoid distractions.
After an aperitif and lunch with old friends, in the early afternoon I left for Venice, the city I visited when I was four years old. Because it has been so long it was like seeing it for the first time…

Walking around in the alleys of this city is definitely a unique experience, not comparable to any other city in the world. You just must experience it for yourself while you admire the beauty of Venice…

In the late afternoon I headed to Mestre and waited for my two friends who were coming to meet me. Around 7:30 pm we headed for Udine, where we had booked our very welcoming Airbnb…

For dinner, however, we had already booked at a tavern to taste something typical, starting with the famous Frico, the “Musetto”, and other local specialties…

To finish out the evening beautifully, we went to a place called the Third Time, where we found a bartender who made us appreciate different qualities of Gin, including of course something local…
The following morning, after attending the graduation, we stayed in another very characteristic place in Udine to celebrate the new doctor…

In the afternoon, we set off to return to Trento. Our first stop in our tour was in Mestre, where we left our two friends in the train station. Then, we headed to Castelfranco Veneto for dinner. Late in the evening we arrived in Trento, but we decided not to stay at home, so we went out to celebrate again late at night. It was about 3:30 am when we chose to wait for the sunrise to take some nice shots. So, we picked up the car and headed in a scenic spot in the mountains…

It was worth the wait despite been tired. The show we witness was magnificent. So, after a few hours of sleep, we went out again to visit the castle of Trento…

In the late afternoon, I left again for Treviso to return the car and take my return flight to London.
There were three really intense days, where I only slept for a total of 7 to 8 hours and drove almost 1000 Km (620 miles). But they were three wonderful days!
