Weekend New York

Weekend in New York… 27-30 Ottobre 2017

Traveling to the United States has always bring a special feeling for me. Over a year ago, one of my goals was to visit New York City, but I never thought one day I will come for a weekend New York.

I still remember the first time I went and the thrill I felt (First time in New York). It was really something else. Last year, I was able to visit both the East and West coast of USA which lead me to take the decision of returning to New York even for four days.

It was my third time in the Big Apple (I was here also at the beginning of September), but the emotion didn’t change. Therefore, at 5:50 am, I was on a direct flight to New York and I had the chance to admire the sunrise from above…

On this trip I landed at JFK Airport and it gave me the opportunity of watching from the plane some of the places I visited a little over a month ago (New York September 2017).

We flew over Boston and it surrounding area that made me enjoyed a great view of Cape Cod, Newport and the whole Long Beach area…

I was transported back in time to the vivid memory of the day I was there, lying on a bench facing the beach, in complete relaxation, enjoying one of the best moments of that holiday.

The weather didn’t look the same as early September, when despite the sun, we also found a little bit of cold wind. Still, that day was very pleasant and our weekend New York started…

Our hotel (TripAdvisor) was in Midtown Manhattan on the 39th Street. After settling down, we spent a good part of the afternoon enjoying the beautiful sunny day.

Eating all the weekend New York

In the evening, we had a reservation in a restaurant in Lower Manhattan, that made us end the day in the best possible way (TripAdvisor).

The following morning was another nice sunny day. We decided to go out for a great breakfast, of course with pancakes…

The dining room of Norma’s (TripAdvisor) was so busy that we had to wait for a free table.

However, from the picture you can understand it was well worth it. Breakfast was so substantial that we skipped lunch and walked around Central Park in the afternoon…

We went to visit the Belvedere Castle, which obviously is not a real castle that dates back to the Middle Ages, but it is still a pleasant stop for some nice photos along your way…

Once arrived on the hill where the castle was built, we enjoyed a beautiful view of Central Park and the cityscape. After taking some photos, we continued our walk inside the Park…

The gorgeous sunny day certainly made everything much more pleasant, with more than 68 °F in late October. We have been really lucky!

On the third day, we stayed at our accommodation in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood. The weather changed and surprised us by a long day of incessant rain.

This forced us to spend most of the day inside, leaving only for lunch and dinner. However, given our location, we were spoiled to have many good choices.

For lunch we chose the restaurant Becco (TripAdvisor), which belongs to the mother of the most famous chef Joe Bastianich. The experience was not the best. I honestly expected more from this place which seems to make its strength more in quantity than quality…

It probably went better in the evening when we opted for South American cuisine in the K Rico restaurant (TripAdvisor). It was a really enjoyable evening, with lots of good meat…

Last day of our weekend New York

During our fourth and last day, the weather was still not the best, but at least it was not raining. We managed to have a nice walk in Manhattan with the sun that sometimes appeared between the clouds…

It was a really nice weekend in one of the most fascinating cities in the world. We will definitely be back again!
