A day between Eastbourne and Brighton
As always, especially when the sun is shining, we take the opportunity to leave London behind and head straight to the coast and the sea.
This time we chose Eastbourne for sunrise, breakfast and the morning walk…
We waited for sunrise from Beachy Head Road, just above Eastbourne, where you have an excellent view of the pier and the city.
We had another breathtaking view as we went down to the sea for a walk…
Our first intention was to have breakfast on the pier, which however we discovered was still closed due to Covid-19…
So, walking on the seafront, we discovered a nice little place with tables exposed to the sun, where we sat down for a nice breakfast…
After breakfast we continued our walk, and thanks to the beautiful sunny day, we took the opportunity to sit a bit on the beach…
We then continued our walk to the Wish Tower, completely on the opposite side of the pier from where we were…
Also from here you can admire the whole promenade of this very pretty city in east Sussex…
It was almost lunchtime when we decided to move to Brighton, where we visit the famous “Pier”…
Given the time we decided to stop here for lunch, where at the “Palm court Restaurant”, we were able to try our first Fish and Chips after several years of living in the UK…
I’ve never been a fan of Fish and Chips, and probably never will be, but sometimes it is nice to change.
Given the rather large portion, after lunch we kept walking along the pier and on the Brighton seafront…
The beach was however quite crowded, despite the post-pandemic period that is characterising this period…
Then in the late afternoon, it was time to go back home, satisfied with the beautiful sunny day outside London…

Un giorno tra Eastbourne e Brighton
Come sempre, in modo particolare quando ci vengono offerte giornate di sole, cogliamo l’occasione per lasciarci Londra alle spalle e puntare dritti verso la costa e il mare.
Questa volta abbiamo scelto Eastbourne per l’alba, la colazione e la passeggiata mattutina…
L’alba l’abbiamo aspettata dalla Beachy Head Road, proprio sopra Eastbourne, dalla quale si ha un’ottima visuale del molo e della città.
Un’altra vista mozzafiato l’abbiamo avuta mentre riscendevamo verso il mare per una passeggiata…
La nostra prima intenzione era quella di fare colazione sul molo, che però abbiamo scoperto essere ancora chiuso causa Covid-19…
Così, passeggiando sul lungomare, abbiamo scoperto un grazioso posticino con dei tavolini esposti al sole, dove ci siamo accomodati per una gustosa colazione…
Terminata la colazione abbiamo proseguito la nostra passeggiata, e complice la bella giornata di sole, ne abbiamo approfittato per sederci un po’ sulla spiaggia…
Abbiamo poi continuato la nostra passeggiata fino alla Wish Tower, completamente dalla parte opposta del molo da dove eravamo…
Anche da qui si può ammirare tutto il lungomare di questa città molto carina dell’est-Sussex…
Così, tra una passeggiata e l’altra, si è avvicinata l’ora di pranzo e abbiamo deciso di spostarci verso Brighton, dove non abbiamo potuto fa a meno di visitare il famoso “Pier”…
Vista l’ora abbiamo quindi deciso di fermarci qui per il pranzo, dove al “Palm court Restaurant”, abbiamo potuto provare il nostro primo Fish and Chips dopo svariati anni di convivenza nel Regno Unito…
Non sono mai stato un fan del Fish and Chips, e probabilmente non lo sarò mai, ma ogni tanto cambiare non fa male.
Data la porzione piuttosto abbondante, dopo pranzo abbiamo ripreso la nostra passeggiata lungo il molo e sul lungomare di Brighton…
La spiaggia era comunque piuttosto affollata, nonostante il periodo post-pandemia che sta caratterizzando questo periodo…
Così nel tardo pomeriggio, è arrivato il momento di dirigersi verso casa, soddisfatti della bella giornata di sole fuori Londra…
