Well, after the wonderful experience with the Lamborghini Huracan, I decide to go back to Stafford for s new “driving experience”. This time the weather when I arrived was better than the last time I was here…
There were several clouds in the sky, but at least the threat of rain didn’t seem to be present…
By 2:00 pm that it was the starting time of my session, the clouds had parted to make room for the sun…
So after waiting, it was my turn…
After a brief moment to familiarized myself again with the right-hand drive, with the interior and the size of this “muscle car”, I entered the track immediately trying to accelerate this machine. I was pleasantly surprised by the power that releases the V8 engine with its 412 horsepower. However, I found that the weak point surely is the speed of the gearbox which seems really slow for a car of this power…
Despite this, once I was familiar with the times of the gearbox and with the excellent grip of the tires, I finished the first round of warming up and I started the second lap to try to make the most of the potential of this car. Another big difference with the other “supercars” I have already driven is definitely braking. Being such a heavy car, but still so powerful, the braking spaces are slightly longer…
It took a couple of laps to get used to all the differences of this car with the other “supercars, but now I was ready to test its limits. Despite the weight and the slow gearbox, on the straight line the Mustang GT allowed me to reach 200 Km / h using all 412 horsepower…
A really surprising thing is the cars agility in a curve. Despite the weight and the rear wheel drive, the Mustang GT allowed me to enter the curve at high-speed and exit it in a really fun acceleration.
Therefore, on the fifth lap, I had caught up to the Nissan GTR. Despite its superiority and perhaps some pilot’s inexperience, I managed to make an easy pass by turning out of the curve quickly. I exploited the width of the track and the power of the Mustang GT in straight line…
On the last lap, I had a clear road ahead of me so I was able to make the most of the track and performance of this “muscle car” that was really fun and surprisingly easy to drive…
