Newport… the pearl of Rhode Island

Newport: Rhode Island, September 10th-11th 2017

In the early morning, we departed from Brooklyn towards Worcester, Massachusetts, a little town that we decided to make our stopping point on our trip towards Boston airport.

Looking in the map, Worcester didn’t have to much scenery so we decided to drive through Newport, Rhode Island. It turned out to be an excellent choice because to visit this place is completely worth the longer distance.

We took the Jamestown-Verrazzano Bridge which links the towns of North Kingstown, the island town of Jamestown and Newport. The total length of the bridge is 7,350 ft (2,240 m) and here are some pictures that sent our anticipation of what we will going to encounter.

And now at Newport some pictures of the port…

The city also contains a high number of surviving buildings from the colonial era of the United States…

This place is known as a summer resort and is famous for its mansions. Here some shots of them as well of its scenic spots…

After that we drove to Worcester, where we enjoyed our AirBnB host Lynne and Emi who welcome us into their beautiful home. We were able to have a great night of rest, before we headed towards our next exciting destination: Chicago!
