Portsmouth 23 April 2015

My Favorite one!

It is hard to explain why you like one thing more than another, or why Portsmouth is my favorite city here in the UK. I knew I liked it from the moment I discovered that I had another day off that coincided with a beautiful sunny day and I started looking on the internet about the destination for that day: Portsmouth… why not! Located to the south, not far from Southampton, it contains many things to visit. First of all, the Spinnaker Tower which is the symbol of the city…

This town was an important naval port for centuries, as you will see if you visit the Portsmouth Historic Dockyard …

But it is not only a port, there are many other things to see here and you can easily walk to access the most interesting parts in this city. When you go down to “Old Portsmouth” you will come to the Round Tower and then into the Square Tower, both accessible without paying anything; if you continue to walk towards the Clarence Pier you can enjoy the small beach near the walls…

Then, in the same direction you will find yourself in the Southsea area, where obviously my attention was drawn by the presence of a castle, and it is open for free! The South Sea castle is really worth the visit if you love them as I do. Here is a shot from the outside…
