Boston: a timeless city!

Visiting Boston, one of the oldest cities in the United States, demands that you research history.

Boston was founded in 1630 and for that reason, the expectancy was to discover the timeless of the city. However, it was more than that!
After the normal delays at the airport, sadly to say but there are quite normal these days, we headed to the Airbnb. It was in a good location, that made it easy to access the city as well.

A big colonial house, very comfortable. (see the link to accommodations)… (Click Here)

That night we went to the waterfront for a walk around Fort Point Channel. It was very enjoyable because the weather was nice, and the city felt placid, perfect for having a good time.

We ate at Miel “Brasserie Provençale” which features the flavors of France. Dinner was delicious!

The next day was all about discovering the city by walking! The contrast of the old architecture with the new, makes the character of this place. It is so interesting to find a full brick building, by a modern and edgy concrete and glass one.

The day had a great turn of events, when we visited TD Garden, a multi-purpose arena in Boston, which is the home for the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association.

Even though there was not a game going on at that moment, the place was quite hectic with different group of fans.

I was impressed by the side of the arena that was built on top of Boston’s North Station, a major transportation hub. I just can only imagine the vibe during finals! Amazing!

We walked back towards downtown Boston founding through landscaped gardens, promenades, plazas, fountains, and even art sculptures.

Our next stop was for lunch at Causeway, which was featuring a college football game that made it very entertaining. We took three appetizers, and the portions were so big it became impossible to eat all the food!

Next we headed to find the Freedom trail which is a 2.5-mile-long (4.0 km) path, that passes by different locations significant to the history of the United States. Marked largely with brick, it winds between Boston Common to the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown…

Here in Boston Common, the oldest city park in United States, we made a new friend!

The Massachusetts State House and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument was erected in memory of Massachusetts soldiers and sailors who died in the American Civil War…

To end a gorgeous day, we went in the Whale watching cruise. This experience was so powerful we in agreement with the other passengers enjoying it together!

When you are traveling, there are many pictures of marvelous places that can be visit and get posted but interact with people and nature is unique. It leaves a wonderful feeling inside…

The next day was time to go to Cape Code. Even if the day was rainy, it was easy to see why this place is so famous. The beach, the harbor and the picturesque houses, make this place a must stop.

In here I tasted a clam chowder for the first time, a typical thick soup of the Eastern United States that contains clams and broth. In addition to clams, common ingredients include diced potatoes, onions, and celery. It is usually served with saltine crackers or small, hexagonal oyster crackers…

At night, we visit Mistral restaurant. It was a nice place with a delicious food. The portions were a little too big so we couldn’t enjoy it to the fullness. However, between cooking and enjoying a night out, the choice is easy!

Boston was a nice place to visit. The harbor, the city, the historical places, and the close by beaches makes this city full of diversity.

As a funny fact, Dunkin Donuts was founded and it is based on Massachusetts, and we saw so many that became our joke during the trip. I challenge you to count how many shops you will find during your visit and actually laugh about it, because the number is pretty big!
