Hunting for Castles!
After visiting Portsmouth, it was hard to find another city that could please me so much, so I started to hunt the most beautiful castles of the UK. I found one located a little more than an hour from London, Dover…
It has access to the highest tower and you can admire the view from there over the city and the sea… it is very impressive…
The castle is on the hill located near the town. One of the most special things I remember is arriving by car from the A2 Jubilee Way which passes between two hills and for a few moments you get the feeling that the road ends in the sea. At the last minute, you realize that it suddenly turns down to the right and arrives at the port of the city…

A caccia di castelli!
Dopo aver visitato Portsmouth, era difficile trovare un’altra città che potesse piacermi così tanto, così mi sono messo a caccia dei più bei castelli del Regno Unito ed è venuto fuori che uno si trovava a poco più di un’ora di treno da Londra, a Dover…
Il castello è davvero molto grande (il più grande nel Regno Unito) e visitarlo mi ha preso un’intera mattinata; ricco di storia, era uno dei principali centri di importanza durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Da non perdere la visita ai tunnel segreti e alla struttura principale del castello…
E’ possibile accedere fino alla torre più alta per ammirare il panorama da li sulla città e sul mare… davvero suggestivo…
Il castello si trova sulla collina situata accanto alla città; una delle cose più particolari che ricordo è l’arrivo in auto dalla A2 Jubilee Way che passa in mezzo a queste due colline, fronte mare, e per alcuni momenti si ha la sensazione che la strada finisca in mare, salvo poi accorgersi che gira improvvisamente scendendo sulla destra e arrivando al porto della città…
