San Francisco 7-8 November 2016
On the morning of November 7th, after passing through San Jose and Silicon Valley, we finally arrived in San Francisco. After a brief stop at our motel to leave our luggage, we went out to take a walk in the Marina District…
In the afternoon, due to daylight savings time on the previous day and discovering we had some extra time, we headed to the “Lands End” area to see another of the unforgettable sunsets that a region like California offers…
In the evening we visited the Union Square area, where on November 7th, there was already a huge Christmas tree. We treated ourselves to dinner in a very special and crowded club.
The next morning, however, I was excited for our trip to Alcatraz; the experience is truly unique. In first place, was the view of the bay during the ferry trip to get there…
Then, retracing the history of this unique prison, where I took advantage of a very detailed audio guide which makes it even more impressive…
In addition, the view that you can enjoy from the island of the skyline of San Francisco is nothing short of amazing…
In the evening, around sunset, we walked the Bay Bridge, passing through Oakland, and we headed to Merced and then we began our return trip…

San Francisco 7-8 Novembre 2016
La mattina del 7 Novembre, dopo essere passati per San Jose e la Silicon Valley, siamo finalmente arrivati a San Francisco. Dopo una breve sosta in motel per lasciare i bagagli, siamo usciti subito a fare una passeggiata nella zona della Marina District…
Nel pomeriggio, invece, complice anche lo spostamento dell’ora del sabato precedente, ci siamo diretti nella zona del “Lands End” per ammirare un altro dei tramonti indimenticabili che una regione come la California offre…
La sera invece abbiamo visitato la zona di Union Square, dove il 7 di Novembre, era già presente un enorme albero di Natale. Ci siamo concessi una cenetta in un locale molto particolare ed affollato.
La mattina seguente, invece, ci attendeva la visita ad Alcatraz; l’esperienza è davvero unica, a cominciare dalla vista che si ha sulla baia durante il viaggio in traghetto per arrivarci…
Ripercorrere poi la storia di questa storica prigione, usufruendo ovviamente dell’audioguida davvero molto dettagliata, rende tutto molto suggestivo…
Inoltre il panorama che si può godere dall’isola sullo skyline di San Francisco è a dir poco unico…
Davvero un’esperienza a non perdere se siete a San Francisco…
La sera, verso il tramonto, abbiamo percorso il Bay Bridge, passando per Oakland, e ci siamo diretti verso Merced, iniziando il viaggio di ritorno…
