Three days to Edinburgh!

Edinburgh 21-22-23 February 2017

Scotland was another one of those places that being close enough, I had always taken into consideration, but still never visited. So, finally, having three days off, I decided to go to Edinburgh.

Of course the main reason of my visit to the city was the castle, but also the rest of the city is worth seeing. So the first day, after I settled in my apartment in the central district (a place that I highly recommend if you go to Edinburgh), I went out for a nice walk through the Grassmarket…

And then walking around the Royal Mile…

And then go to Carlton Hill from where you can admire one of the best views in Edinburgh…

And after having continued on Princes Street also visiting the new part of the city…

I was caught in the rain and I decided to go home…

The following day, however, I had planned a visit to the Castle…

Needless to say, I spent several hours within the walls of this structure which is really well preserved…

On the third day, however, the weather was rather miserable, but despite the torrential rain, and the disappointment of arriving at Craigmillar Castle and finding it closed, the day took a turn for the better thanks to my Uber driver (a likeable Scottish man). He suggested I visit Ocean Terminal and the Royal Yacht Britannia…

Really a great tip for a rainy day like this. While in the meantime in London, Hurricane Doris uprooted trees and made for very difficult landings at airports. This made my return trip a little more lively than usual…
